The Blogging from A to Z April Challenge

I have decided to take the plunge and sign up for The Blogging from A to Z April Challenge.  If you'll take a look to your right you will see a zebra.  Click on him he will take you to the challenge web page. I discovered this back in December and it took me 3 months to get up the nerve to try.

Click on the zebra for details, but in a nutshell The Blogging from A to Z April Challenge is a challenge that challenges you to blog alphabetically nearly every day in April.  On the first day in April you write about something that starts with the letter A.  The second day is B and so on.  You skip Sundays, except this year because of the way the calendar is laid out the first post will be on a Sunday.

The Challenge is also a way to meet other bloggers and hopefully increase traffic.  I'm crap at self promotion and only have like 30 Facebook friends to pester into visiting me here.  My 2 followers over there on the right?  My brother and his best friend.  My own mother doesn't even follow me (though in her defense I don't think she knows how to "follow" a blog).  Did you know there's such a thing as referral spam?  That's where most of my "page views" come from.    Having a large readership is not really a goal for me.  In fact, if I suddenly had a hundred people visiting every day I would probably start freaking out under the pressure to deliver.

This is mostly a challenge to myself.  I want to write more, but I get lazy or can't come up with or flesh out ideas.  Maybe this will be the push I need to focus a bit more.
To say the least this is not going to be easy for me.  I have posted 4 times in the last 3 months.  Trying to write something new every day for a month is going to be...interesting.  So please stop on by starting April 1st to witness my triumph.  Or defeat.  One of these things will happen.

  1. My mom...my whole family actually...don't follow my blog either. What's up with that? I started my blog in an effort to let my family (most of whom live a gajillion miles away) know what I was up to.

    Jerks.

Good luck with A to Z. I'm up for it too!
