Baking

I like to bake mostly because I like to eat what I bake. So here's a recipe for Chocolate Chocolate Chip cookies. The last time I made these I had to make them in batches, so while I had a sheet in the oven baking I was blindly shoveling cooling cookies into my mouth. These are best 5 minutes out of the oven, but are great up to 3 days later if you store them in an air-tight container.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In large bowl, beat butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt; stir into the butter mixture until well blended. Mix in the chocolate chips and walnuts. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or just until set. Cool slightly on the cookie sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

  9. That looks so incredible! We are GF in our house so I'd probably make them with some hazelnut flour in there, which I think could only improve on a good thing!
    Happy A-Z :)

  12. Haven't baked for years! I only used to bake when my kids were small, because I don't really like any cakes! Yeah, i know that makes me strange but still!
